Verdict
YumeAI is the anime specialist. Most companion apps treat anime as a second style next to realistic. YumeAI was built for it from the start, and the art shows it: clean lines, cel shading and characters that look like they belong in a series.
Choose it if anime is what you want. Skip it if you want a photorealistic companion, because it does not have one.
What it does well
- The best anime art we have used. Clean cel shading in 2D and 3D anime styles.
- Anime character building. You pick hair, outfits and cosplay, voice, and a classic archetype such as tsundere, kuudere or yandere.
- Animated clips. An animation feature turns a still portrait into a short moving clip, with hair movement, blinking and expressions.
- Prompting the way anime fans do. It accepts Danbooru-style tags as well as plain language.
- Memory that holds through a long roleplay.
- A clean interface in dark mode, on phone and desktop.
Where it falls short
- Anime only. There is no photorealistic mode.
- Media uses credits. Heavy image and video use runs through them.
- Prices are not public. You see the plans inside the app.
Pricing
| Reported price | |

Extra images and video are paid for with credits on top of the plan.

YumeAI allows uncensored anime and hentai roleplay, and it generates explicit anime art of your character on request.
