Verdict
Promptchan AI is an art tool first. Companion apps add pictures to a chat. Promptchan gives you a studio: you control the pose, the style and what to leave out, and you can turn a still into a clip.
Choose it if images and video are what you want. If you want a companion who remembers you, it is the wrong kind of app.
What it does well
- Real controls. Pose, lighting and clothing, plus negative prompts to remove what you do not want.
- Several styles. Photorealistic, anime, 3D and digital art.
- Image to video. Any image can be turned into a clip.
- A community gallery to browse for prompt ideas.
- A free daily allowance. 30 Gems a day without paying.
- Few prompt restrictions for adult content.
Where it falls short
- It is not built around chat. There is no long-term companion with memory.
- Queues when free. The free tier also runs on daily credits.
- Video is on the top plan. Longer clips and voice need Pro.
