GPTGirlfriend

Verdict

GirlfriendGPT is the app to choose if you want variety. It has more than 40,000 characters and scenarios made by its community, and its text roleplay holds a long story together well.

Know one thing before you sign up: the free version is not an NSFW app. Adult chat and images start on the $15 a month Premium plan. If you will not pay, use SpicyChat AI, which is run by the same company and allows NSFW chat for free.

What it does well

• The largest ready-made library here. Over 40,000 characters and scenarios, from slow romance to fantasy, with new ones added daily.
• Community ratings. Votes and search surface the well-written characters, so you spend less time on weak ones.
• Strong story roleplay. Characters come with backstories and keep a plot going across a long chat.
• Images and short video in the chat. You can ask for both without leaving the conversation.
• Private or public characters. You can build your own and keep it to yourself.

Where it falls short

• NSFW is paid. Free accounts can browse and chat, but adult chat and images need a plan.
• Media uses coins. Images, video and voice spend coins. Each plan includes a monthly allowance.
• Memory and voice cost more. Longer memory and voice start at the Deluxe plan.
• Images depend on the creator. Picture quality varies with how a character was set up, and visuals come second to text.

Pricing

These prices were checked in September 2026. On 8 October 2026 GirlfriendGPT's pricing page asked for a sign-in, so we could not read them again without an account. Confirm the figure at checkout.

Which plan to choose: Premium, unless you know you want voice. The jump to Deluxe more than doubles the price for memory and voice.

What is free

Browsing the library and safe-for-work chat. That is enough to judge the writing quality of a character before you pay, but not to use the app for what most people come for.

NSFW content

On paid plans, adult chat and images are allowed. The footer links community guidelines, a content removal process and an 18 U.S.C. 2257 statement.

Payment and privacy

GirlfriendGPT is owned and operated by NextDay AI, with offices listed in Montreal, Delaware and Limassol (read from the site footer on 8 October 2026). Card payments have gone through the processor Sticky.io, and crypto is accepted.

You can sign in with Google, email or Discord. Choose email with an address that is not tied to your name if you want to keep the account separate from the rest of your life.
